Product Description
The EZ-LOK™ is a patent-pending, standalone ecosystem designed as a simplified, universal Rapid Index™ piston system. The EZ-LOK™ system consists of two components: the piston and the barrel adapter. This product page is for the piston (the bronze-colored component installed in the suppressor). The system is intended to provide a straightforward solution requiring minimal training or familiarity. CAM-LOK® remains Griffin Armament’s original, higher-performance piston mount system within the same product category.
The Griffin Armament EZ-LOK™ interface allows users to convert a suppressor into a faster and more secure mounting solution on Browning-style (tilt barrel) pistols compared to traditional single-piece direct-thread pistons. The system provides rapid and secure attachment to the host firearm. Traditional direct-thread pistons rely on hand tightening and can loosen during firing due to reciprocation, which may lead to alignment issues such as baffle or end cap strikes. These issues often require users to frequently check tightness and can result in additional maintenance or repair.
The EZ-LOK™ system addresses these concerns by supporting installation with a 3/4" socket wrench and incorporating a sealing alignment taper that promotes secure attachment, even as the piston reciprocates during firing. The piston installs in a single orientation, simplifying operation. Manufacturing tolerances are tightly controlled to ensure alignment, consistency, and minimal point-of-impact shift. Both piston and barrel adapter interfaces are machined for precision and concentricity.
Users can attach a suppressor to multiple firearms equipped with EZ-LOK™ barrel adapters without changing piston thread pitches. EZ-LOK™ pistons are designed to be universal within the system, allowing compatibility across supported suppressors and adapter configurations.
The Griffin EZ-LOK™ pistons are compatible with the Revolution®, Resistance®, Optimus® 9mm, and Bushwhacker® 46 when used in pistol configurations.
Regular maintenance is required. The exterior of the piston and interior of the booster housing should be cleaned and lubricated periodically to ensure smooth operation. O-rings should be replaced as needed to maintain proper alignment. Failure to replace worn or damaged O-rings may result in damage to the suppressor or piston components. Pistons are H900 heat treated and coated with a rust-inhibiting lubricant; color and finish may vary due to the heat treatment process.
Installation & Use Notes:
- The suppressor should be tightly assembled when using this product to prevent inadvertent disassembly during removal.
- Barrel adapters should be installed to the host firearm with a minimum torque of 22 ft/lbs using a 3/4" socket and torque wrench.
- Use of a box-end wrench is not recommended and may damage the adapter.
- CAM-LOK® requires a minimum of 22 inch-lbs of torque for attachment.
- EZ-LOK™ requires a minimum of 13.75 inch-lbs of torque for attachment.
- Proper installation is indicated by a slight compression feel as the taper surfaces engage.
For maximum speed, CAM-LOK® is recommended. For simplicity and ease of use, EZ-LOK™ is recommended.
