The HK SP5K-PDW is the semi-automatic civilian sporting version of the legendary HK MP5K, one of the most recognizable close-quarters weapon platforms ever developed. The “K” designation comes from the German word kurz, meaning short, referencing the platform’s compact barrel and receiver design. Despite its reduced size, the SP5K-PDW retains the same roller-delayed blowback operating system found across the MP5 family, renowned for its smooth shooting characteristics, reliability, and accuracy.
Originally developed from the operating system perfected in the Heckler & Koch G3 rifle, this proven design continues to serve in HK firearms used around the world. Manufactured in Heckler & Koch’s Oberndorf, Germany facility, the SP5K-PDW is built on the same production lines by the same workforce responsible for producing MP5 variants, delivering the fit, finish, and attention to detail expected from the platform.
Designed to meet the definition of a civilian pistol, the SP5K-PDW features authentic MP5K characteristics including a threaded Navy-style tri-lug barrel adaptor, paddle magazine release, fluted chamber, and precision-machined components throughout.
