Product Overview
Product Description
The Geissele Super 42 Spring brings a three-strand braided wire design to AR-15 buffer systems, inspired by the German MG42 machine gun, giving shooters improved reliability by letting each strand flex independently. Built to reduce spring failure and excess vibration, this buffer spring delivers a stronger, more consistent return force than a standard mil-spec spring.
The three independent wire strands flex separately from one another, acting as a harmonic damper that displaces excess energy and reduces the chance of spring failure compared to a standard single-strand spring. The stronger 15% average return force helps strip rounds from the magazine even with a dirty weapon or steel-case ammunition. This spring is built specifically for carbine-length buffer tubes and is not compatible with rifle-length or A5 buffer tubes and receiver extensions. It’s also not recommended for use with .300 Blackout subsonic ammunition, since its stronger return force can be too powerful for the rifle to cycle reliably with subsonic loads.
- Three independent braided wire strands, MG42-inspired design
- Acts as a harmonic damper and energy absorber
- 15% stronger average return force than a standard buffer spring
- Reduced spring “twang” felt and heard through the buttstock
- Reduced tendency to lose length and force over round count
- Carbine-length buffer tubes only
